Hard and soft bumps? Empty Hard and soft bumps?

Post by mad267 on Fri Mar 21, 2008 6:56 am

I'm just curious really rather than worried, my bump has always been quite soft, although alot of other people have posted to say their bumps feel hard. Now over the last couple of days, mine has gone harder. As I say, it doesn't worry me, but does anyone know why they do this? Is it just that the skin growth/baby growth have caught up to each other (in whihc case, I'll double up on stretch mark cream effort! lol)? Laughing

You can't help it. Goodness knows what I'd have done even 18 months ago, cos i didn't have an online support network then-its great to know you can rant, and no one seems to mind, even if they think you are being silly xxx

Thats one thing that I love... you can rant about your pregnancy and there are people out there who know exactly how your feeling. I didnt have that and just felt like people were thinking I was a right moaner!! Lol.
I dont think any of us will think you're being silly. I know from when I was pregnant every little problem I thought I was blowing out of proportion. I phoned the delivery suite and was told they would check me over and send me home with stronger pain killers so was worried they would think I was overreacting. When I got there I was told I was in labour! Pregnancy is one of those bittersweet situations. At the end of it youre going to have a baby who you will love and cherish... the run up to that is nonstop worry!

I know, to be honest, I'm alot calmer now than I was. Stupid as this sounds, knowing that everyone else is, or has beeen through the same thing, kind of makes you not worry.
I still have niggles about things, but they don't make me panic like they did. xx

I don't really remember when my bump went hard, but I am sure it is something that happens to lots of women, and I can only assume it's where your skin is stretching over baby, I remember touching my belly and knowing when he was cos it was harder there, plus you have the water too. I pretty sure I read when pregnant that if you are going to get stretch marks they'll probably come up in the last part of pregnancy, but don't quote me on that, I would just put loads and loads of cream on regardless, I put loads on my belly but no where else and got them on my books and tighs, the little buggers.

I loved being pregnant, I feel like all the moaning and worrying was all part of it and enjoyed it! hehe! I am sure I will do just as much moaning next time!! LOL Can't wait!

I've already got stretch marks on my thighs, boobs etc, I am moisturising like mad, althouogh I need to anyway, as my usually greasy skin has gone so dry its flaking off!
I'm not worried about them anyway, as everyone keeps saying they seem to be genetic,a nd my Mum had them, so I'm going to get them anyway-just trying to minimise the effect!

Mine is starting to feel a lot harder now, I often feel soft in some places and harder in others - so guess its just where Bickham is laying.
