What is an essential for your bag?
I found packing my hair starightners as there was no way I was gonna look like death even in some funny positions. Even now with baby due early next month I have become obsessed with shaving my legs etc to the best i can to where I can reach.
Men have no idea what we go through do they?

I think I'm going to end up with some make up in mine-I get really heavy black bags under my eyes, and I'll scare myself, baby, and any visitors if I don't, but I may change my mind!

I took my make up, and used it! Also take magazines. I was on my own on the ward while Rhys went home for a few hours and they were life savers as Ruby slept off the pethedine

I am taking my Nintendo DS to play with as otherwise I would get bored. Also taking my tinted moisturiser with some mascara just make me feel a little more human.

Re: What is an essential for your bag?
I'm taking some lucozade this time!!! Didn't take any last time and had to send Dave out for some. Took my make up and had only been on the ward an hour before I was putting it on. Problem was, felt so tired the make up just made me feel better and that was after a c-section so dread to think what I will look like after labour which is why I'm taking lucozade...want to put some energey back in! Oh and music...just to keep me from feeling lost when Dave goes home.

Also you might wanna think about taking in some money aswell as your mobile as most hospitals have hospicom with every bed which costs about £3 per day and that has tv, telephone, movies and radio on it. There is nothing worse than forgetting something and not being able to contact someone to pick it up for you.

Re: What is an essential for your bag?
If I did it again my 3 essential would be
1) Drinks - I took Ribena which did the trick for me, I got very thirsty especially with the gas and air
2) Vaseline - this can be used for your lips (As lip balm) But also when baby is born put it on his/her bum to stop the first poo sticking, it's VERY hard to get off otherwise (My sister gave me this tip and was amazing!)
3) XL top! I completely underestimated how big I would be after bubs came out, I had clothes that didn't quite fit (Even PJ's) and had lots of people visiting while I looked so rough! I wish I'd had something extra large to hide in!!

Re: What is an essential for your bag?
Well, my bag is now all packed apart from my make up and snacks which I will add nearer the time. Sounds mad at just 29+2 but for some reason both Dave and I are convinced Steven will arrive early so I want to be as ready as possible...have even got him to put the phone number for the labour ward in his phone just in case!

Re: What is an essential for your bag?
Well at 36 weeks my bag is not yet packed, nearly though. The only thing needed to go in is dressing gown and slippers. Everytime I put something in the bag I end up taking it out as I need it.
I just wish I knew exactly what date this baby will come, even though my due date is 17 March, this is my 3rd baby and I'm hoping he will come early I have a feeling it may but when is anyones guess.
mothercare do hospital bags with everything that a woman needs for £49.
